They may be cute and cuddly but owning a dog is a serious commitment. Just like children, they constantly need our attention and care.
We cannot be with them 24/7. Some have work. Some have to go to school. But despite the temporary distance, we want to know where they are, and what they’re up to.
There is good news! You can now keep an eye on your best buddy, and even give commands while you’re away thanks to WÜF, a new, two-way communication “smart” dog collar.
The newest and most comprehensive, WÜF stands out among the rising number of pet trackers. This is because of one very smart feature –two-way audio. This dog collar lets you talk to your pup from anywhere and to listen to him, too! You can also train and play with Fido too! Well, virtually, at least.
The two-way communication happens using a companion app and a microphone-speaker combo embedded in the collar. You will be able toget alerts on the app whenever your pooch is “barking a lot, crying, whining, growling or whimpering unexpectedly.” And that is not all, because it would be hard to listen to all that endearing pooch talk from afar without being able to respond, the app also lets you ‘bark’ back.
CEO and co-founder Sean Kelly created the waterproof/shockproof/bite-proof/all-sorts-of proof collar after he lost his dog Roxy. She chased a squirrel and was fatally struck by a car –the reason behind the collar’s GPS tracking ability.
The high-tech collar also monitors your dog’s overall health and activity levels; lets you play with; and train your dog using customizable programs. It even helps you make sure that your dog is staying within an invisible “geofence” perimeter around your yard.
There is absolutely ‘no shock’ involved with WÜF’s “invisible leash” feature. It simply relies on a two-way audio, collar vibration, and an additional “advanced clicker training” program. It warns your pooch to “Stop!” “Listen!” and “Come on back to you to get a treat or affection.”
WÜF is on Kickstarter and is left with less than a month to gather funds. So far, the project has earned $20,635, which is less than half of their $50,000 goal. Gray or orange WÜF collars are available for pre-order for pledges of $99 and up.
