Have you ever wanted to organize dog weddings? They’re also known as puptials!
Yep, we have reached that era! A time when dogs can declare their forever love, wearing their veils and bow-ties.
If you’re wondering whether dogs understand the whole thing, or gets anything from the experience Dr. Bonnie Beaver gives an answer.
The executive director of the American College of Veterinary Behaviorists and professor at Texas A&M, plainly told The Associated Press, “Pet marriage or weddings are for people. And people certainly do love them. Dog weddings have, unsurprisingly, charmed the Internet.”
Aside from that, dog weddings are big business as well!
According to Adina Slotsky, the owner and CEO of Hollywood Pet Parties, the basic wedding packages cost about $300. If you opt to spend more for catering, flowers and a band, you’ll be paying thousands of dollars.
The fanciest and most expensive dog wedding that ever happened was the “union” of Baby Hope Diamond, a Coton de Tulear, and Chilly Pasternak, a Poodle. During the celebration, they had sushi chef, an orchestra, and a $6,000 designer dress for the pup bride.
If you think that’s a complete waste of moolah, you’re wrong. The wedding done for charity and the event raised $158,187.26 for the Humane Society of New York.
