Today shows’ Labrador Puppy Wrangler gets his own dog park!
Property Brothers designed a new play area for the show’s puppy Wrangler!
The future guide dog has a new place to play thanks to Property Brothers hosts, Jonathan and Drew Scott!
The Scott brothers built a dog run for Jonathan’s dogs in their shared home in Las Vegas so it was easy turning Wrangler’s new fun-filled play area into every dog’s dream!
But do not be deceived! The guide dog-in-training’s play area isn’t solely for fun and games. Each area serves a purpose, too!
The different surfaces throughout Wrangler’s play area will help the Labrador Retriever become comfortable walking on different textures. The stairs serve as practice for getting up and down with ease. The tunnel and hoop help the Labrador with spatial awareness. Overall, the play area will help him decompress and maintain a positive emotional state.
Once Wrangler outgrows his new training and play space, it will be donated to Guiding Eyes for the Blind for other dogs to enjoy and learn from.
If you have backyard space and are interested in building a dog play area for your pup, Jonathan and Drew have a few tips.
- Place your dog’s play space area away from any outdoor entertainment area, but in a spot you can easily view it from a door or window so that you can keep an eye on the dog.
- Include shade, a feeding/watering station, a restroom area, a digging area, an obstacle course and room to run and play.
- Keep toxic plants, as well as ground cover that can harbor bacteria, out of the area.
