Raw Pet Food Recalled Due To Salmonella

Raw Pet Food Recalled Due To Salmonella 1Bravo, a Connecticut-based company that specializes in raw pet food, is recalling their turkey and chicken products for cats and dogs because of salmonella.

The manufacturer said in a posting on the Food and Drug Administration website that the recall was prompted by positive salmonella tests conducted by Nebraska health authorities.

Aside from the bacteria’s effects on the animals, it can also harm people. People might become infected by handling the food.

Symptoms for both animals and humans include vomiting, fever and diarrhea.

The recall covers the following products:

  • Raw Turkey Blend for dogs and cats
  • All Natural Chicken Blend for cats and dogs
  • Raw Premium Turkey Formula
  • All Natural Chicken Blend diet for dogs and cats

The said items were sold nationwide to retail stores, distributors, internet retailers, and directly to customers from Nov. 12, 2013.

The recall notice advises customers to return the recalled products to the store with a product recall claim for full refunds or store credit.

Recall claims can be printed via Bravo’s website.
