A Longview police officer went above and beyond the call of duty this weekend to save a Labrador after the dog fell and then got stuck in a storm pipe!
On Sunday morning officers responded to a call in Inverness Street. They family’s dog, Buddy, had fallen into the storm drain and could not get out.
Officers Kevin Nichols, Ben Easley, Rolf Kotulla and Sgt. Chip Koepke worked hard to rescue the poor pooch.
Nichols climbed through a manhole into the storm drain and crawled about 300 feet through an 18-inch storm pipe to rescue the Labrador.
