OC Raw Dog Issues Voluntary Recall Of Turkey & Produce Raw Frozen Canine Formulation! The FDA announced that OC Raw Dog has issued a voluntary recall of its Turkey & Produce Raw Frozen Canine Formulation due to potential Salmonella contamination.

The specialty dog food company issued a recall of formulations packaged into 6.5-lb. Doggie Dozen Patties and 5 lb.-Bulk Bags with the lot number 1511 and use by date of 10/8/15.

These products were distributed in Colorado, Minnesota, Missouri and Pennsylvania. The food is sold through independent pet specialty retailers.

According to the FDA, “Pets with Salmonella infections may be lethargic and have diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, fever. Some animals will have only decreased appetite, fever and abdominal pain. Infected but otherwise healthy animals can be carriers and infect other animals or humans. If your animals have consumed the recalled product and have these symptoms, please contact your veterinarian.”

The recall was issued after routine sampling by the Nebraska Department of Food and Agriculture found a presumptive positive to Salmonella.

The company said, “We will be making several changes to our methods of production in order to further protect the product we so firmly believe in.”

If you have the recalled dog food, send a photo of the package with the lot number to Olivia@ocrawdog.com for verification.  You may also return the food to the retailer where you purchased it for a full refund or replacement product.
