Miss P’s registered name is “Ch Tashtins Looking for Trouble.” The Best in Show winner got her nickname from a judge who asked about her name during a puppy class, Will Alexander, her handler, said.
“I said ‘Payton,’ and he said, ‘The Devine Miss P,'” Alexander recalled.
The Beagle defeats 2,700 dogs representing 192 breeds and varieties to claim her Best in Show crown! She’s also the second Beagle ever to win the honor! Miss P defeated Matisse, a Portuguese Water Dog who is a cousin to the presidential dog Sunny; and a Rocket, a Shih Tzu belonging to Patty Hearst, a famed American heiress.
“She never lets me down,” Alexander said.”She’s going to go be a mother soon. And that will be a great thing for the breed and for her.”
Being a winner runs in the family. Miss P’s great uncle, Uno, was the first Beagle to ever win Best in Show. He won in 2008.
Winning the coveted title has no prize money, just lots of honor and prestige!
