Adam, the Labrador who was allergic to people, has found his forever home!
We first learned of Adam’s story last year.
Robin Herman rescued Adam and noticed he had an odd irritation that wouldn’t go away. After a trip to the vet, she found out that the Labrador is allergic to human dander, the same way some humans are allergic to dogs.
The Labrador was later taken to Dr. Lori Thompsonat the Animal Dermatolgy Clinic, where he was diagnosed with a severe auto-immune disorder (pemphigus fliaceus).
After months of trials with Prednisone, Sucralfate and Azathioprine, the black Labrador is now on the road to a full recovery though he will be on medication for the rest of his life.
Beth Weber, Lucky Dog Retreat Rescue’s employee, has spent the past year caring for Adam. She takes good care of him keeping track of all his medications and giving him baths every three days with a different kind of soap every other time.
After taking care of the sweet Lab, she fell in love with him and took him home permanently in February 2015.
