Labrador Retriever Rescued in Intracoastal Waterway

A Black Labrador Retriever was rescued in the Intracoastal Waterway in Florida, Wednesday evening.

Capt. Chase Hawkinson had just finished a tow when saw what it seemed like a moving person near the jetties.

“I didn’t think it was a dog swimming in the middle of the Intracoastal between the jetties,” Hawkinson told WJXT.

He realized that it was a swimming dog when he got closer. He even saw a couple on the beach and thought they were the Lab’s owners, but he was wrong.

Hawkinson said he will take care of the dog until he finds out who owns the beautiful Lab.

He also said that the he will take the Lab to a vet to see if the pooch is micro-chipped, and perhaps have any lead to find the owner.
