There’s another champion Labrador Retriever this year. A beautiful black Labrador, Ivy, won the 2013 National Amateur Field Trial Championship held June 16-22 in Mondovi, Wis.
After seven days of arduous and demanding races over land and water, Ivy emerged as top dog. The 5-year-old Labrador is owned and handled by Andy Kahn of Roseburg. Trails included runs of up to about 450 yards to retrieve birds she had seen dropped, and also those unseen that she was directed via whistle and hand signals.
The photo above shows Andy Kahn sending Ivy, a Labrador, off on a retrieve during the 10th and final series of the recent National Amateur Field Trial Championship in Mondovi, Wis. The pair claimed the national title.
