Dayko, a Labrador rescue dog, died after rescuing 7 people from the aftermath of the recent Ecuador earthquake.
The 4-year-old Labrador managed to rescue seven people before dying from exhaustion.

Dayko, a rescue dog with the Ibara fire service, passed away on Friday, April 22, , after spending the previous days searching for survivors in the rubble left by the 7.8-magnitude earthquake.

According to a Facebook post by Cuerpo De Bomber
os Ibarra Ibarra, the cause of Dayko’s death was “massive coronary myocardial infarction and acute respiratory failure.”
The hero dog had been working as a rescue dog for three and a half years.
“You held high the name of the K9 unit,” the fire service wrote in honor of the hero dog.
