Here’s a list of some of the world’s richest dogs who were provided for well by their famous and wealthy owners!
#1 New York Poodle Tobey Rimes: $US 80 million
Tobey acquired his fortune by being a descendant of a Poodle who inherited $30 million in 1931 after the death of his owner, Ella Wendel. Tobey’s net worth today is estimated at more than $US80 million.
#2 Maltese Terrier Trouble: $US 12 million
Leona Helmsley, the late New York hotel tycoon, left a $US 12 million trust fund for her Trouble in 2007.Leona’s two grandchildren disputed the will and a judge later reduced it to $2 million with the rest going to charity.
Ultimately, Trouble was placed in the care of Helmsley Sandcastle Hotel-Florida’s general manager, who was paid $5,000 a month.
He told the trustees that Trouble needed $100,000 a year for a security guard since she had received many death and kidnapping threats, $18,000 for vet costs, $1200 for food and $8000 for grooming.
#3 Conchita the Cartier wearing Chihuahua: $US 3.4 million
Unconventional Miami heiress Gail Posner left her beloved Chihuahua Conchita a $3.4 million trust fund when she passed away in 2010. Gail also left $31 million to the staff to care for Conchita and her other pets until they die. Back in 2007, it was reported that Gail bought Conchita a $15,000 Cartier diamond necklace which she refused to wear because she choked on it.
#4 Oprah’s Springer Spaniels Sunny and Lauren: $US30 million
Celebrity and billionaire Oprah Winfrey is rumored to have left as much as whopping $30 million in her will for the care of her two Springer Spaniels, Sunny and Lauren.
#5 Gunther IV the German Shepherd : $US 372 million
German Countess Carlotta Liebenstein left her fortune to her dog, Gunther III, when she passed away in 1991. Gunther III died a month later, but his inheritance was passed on to his son, Gunther IV. The pooch has an estimated worth of $372 million, making him the richest pet in the whole-wide world. He is said to have a personal maid and a chauffeur-driven limo.
#6 Flossie the Labrador Retriever: One Beverly Hills mansion
Actress Drew Barrymore gifted her Beverly Hills home to her beloved Labrador Retriever, Flossie, after the hero pooch barked and scratched on her door to alert her to a house fire while she was asleep. Flossie may be the richest Labrador Retriever today.
#7 English Bull Terriers Minter, Juice and Callum: £50,000
The late British fashion designer Alexander McQueen left his three English Bull Terriers, Minter, Juice, and Callum, £50,000 after he died in 2010. He has also left £100,000 to the Battersea Dogs Home.
#8 Perth Poodles Lulu, Dennis and Snoopy: $AUD 1 million
Socialite Rose Porteous has left $1 million in her will to each of her three Poodles, Lulu, Dennis, and Snoopy. According to her, the money is “to keep them going and accustomed to how they’ve been treated”.
Rose spends $600 to $800 every week on the trio, including the fee for a nanny. Any money saved will go to Perth’s Rescue Centre For Poodles.
