According Hoover Fire Battalion Chief Rick Patterson, the Labrador mix was limp and lifeless when they got to him. The Hoover Fire medics used their pet resuscitators to revive the dog. This animal rescue kit has a special cup-shaped mask that fits animals’ muzzles more tightly than the usual oxygen masks used on people.

The Labrador mix responded quite well to the resuscitation, Patterson said. Although shaky, the poochmanaged to stand up after a short period of time. The dog was sent to a local veterinary clinic for a full checkup.

When asked about the dog’s name, Patterson just said, “We did not get his name, but we all call him “Lucky.”

What a lucky dog, indeed!
