Family Mourns Loss Of Beloved Labradors Shot By Neighbor

Family Mourns Loss Of Beloved Labradors Shot By NeighborStardust and Vegas, two awesome yellow Labradors, were shot by a neighbor just days before Christmas in Loxahatchee!

The family is heartbroken and spent Christmas mourning their beloved Labs!

The neighbor claims the Labrador attacked a goat. He buried the dogs immediately after shooting them on Sunday.

“The labs and the kids were best friends. They went everywhere. We bought them Christmas presents,” Robin Griffin said.

The Griffins said the dogs got out through a fence on Sunday. They realized they were missing just before the family left for church.

Jon Griffin told News Channel 5 “My kids say to me, ‘Daddy, I’ve never seen your eyes this puffy. I’ve never seen you cry.’ These dogs were part of our family,” .

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office was contacted and a deputy responded. He told the Griffins that he saw a picture of the dead dogs next to the dead goat.

“There is a lot of unanswered questions that I have that will never be answered. I just don’t know why there were multiple gun shots. I don’t know why they were buried right away,” Jon Griffin said.

The community rallied around the Griffins family. On Monday they helped to exhume the dogs and bury them in the family’s backyard.

“It is amazing the way this community has supported us while we are grieving,” Robin Griffin said.

Labrador, Vegas, was used for breeding. Many of her puppies’ owners have shown support and visited with their dogs in an attempt to comfort the Griffin children.

It is really hard for a child to comprehend this type of atrocity. How can they understand why the dogs they grew up with are not home for Christmas?

“I did tell them that Jesus chose Stardust and Vegas and they went to be with Jesus. I told them that Jesus needed special angels this Christmas and he chose them,” Robin Griffin said.

Such a tragedy!
