A dying Labrador mix enjoyed a wonderful cross-country journey with his humans.
Thomas Neil Rodriguez and his fiancé decided to take Poh, their 15-year-old Labrador Retriever mix, on an amazing road trip after vets told them that Poh have only a few months to live because of multiple health issues.
Rodriguez created Poh’s Instagram account to document that Labrador mix’s travels. Poh’s wonderful journey has captured the attention of dog-lovers around the world.
Poh, a former rescue puppy, got to go to places in a special green travel buggy.
To date they have visited 35 cities and covered more than 19,000 kilometers in seven weeks – taking in North Carolina, Texas, New Mexico, Oregon and Arizona before reaching California.
Rodriguez said Poh loved splashing about in the Pacific Ocean.
“He loved it, it was so healing for him. It was like he was five years younger. He was walking with a lot of energy,” he said.
Poh is still alive –enjoying with his wonderful adventure.
“My assumption is that I don’t have very long with him and that’s what prompted the trips,” Rodriguez told ABC News. “I’m always travelling, but Poh is my home, my child. I am super blessed that I have actually gotten to do this. People think I take care of Poh, but Poh takes care of me.”
Bless them both! Happy Travels Poh and Dad!
