Deputy Rescues Labrador Running On The Road During A Storm

An awesome sheriff’s deputy rescued a Labrador running on the road during a storm on Wednesday in Pima, Arizona.

Deputy Russell Gibson saw the yellow Labrador Retriever in the middle of the street near East Drexel Road and South Campbell Avenue while on his way to a low-priority call.

“It was in the middle of a downpour and he knew she was going to get hit,” said department spokesman Deputy Tom Peine.

Gibson stopped his car, opened the door and the Labrador jumped in on her own, he said.

He then drove to his call while the Lab stayed inside the air-conditioned patrol car. Gibson latercalled the owners with the information on her collar tag.

Lola, the dog, was reunited with her owners on the same day. They were very relieved at her safe return.
