The awesome chocolate Labrador, Boogie Butts, who became famous after running the Evansville Half-Marathon by mistake has died
The eight-year-old Lab gained national media attention when he completed a 13.1 mile half marathon and ended up receiving a medal for running the race, even though he wasn’t entered in the competition.
Boogie ran away from home and ended up competing in the race by chance. He joined in with the marathon runners and completed the race in just two hours and 15 minutes. No one knew who he was or how he had ended up their until he was reunited with his owners.
On Tuesday, the family posted on Facebook that they believe their beloved Lab died from a heart attack!
Boogie gave everything in life and truly lived a life worth living.
RIP beautiful boy!
