In a terrible act of cruelty, an abused Labrador was chained in his Archilles tendon!
In the morning of October 14, Bakersfield police officer Ray Pruitt said someone brought an injured Labrador mix to the Bakersfield Animal Care Center.
The Labrador mix is named Boy by his rescuer and he is approximately 3 to 4 years old.
The poor Lab has some type of swivel lobster clasp hooked onto his Achilles tendon.
The vet at the animal care center was able to remove the clasp from Boy’s leg.
The vet treated the wound as well as all other wounds on the dog’s front legs.
The veterinarian estimated that the clasp had been in the dog’s leg for approximately five to seven days.
A local non-profit, Marley’s Mutts, had taken the dog in for rehabilitation and a hopeful adoption after the rehabilitation period.
Bakersfield Animal Control is seeking any information into the individual or individuals who harmed this animal in this way. Anyone with information regarding this case is encouraged to call the Bakersfield Animal Care Center at (661) 832-7387.
